About the St. Thomas Early Learning Center

We offer a rich learning experience.
We are a state licensed facility that provides play based academic programs for children ages 2 to 5 (Pre-K). We stress rich learning experiences that stimulate children intellectually and socially, giving them an opportunity to master skills while having fun. Children participate at their own level, with dedicated and experienced teachers. Class sizes are small.

Our Teachers are qualified preschool professionals who receive annual training in child development and health and safety (including CPR and first aid certification). Additionally, they receive training in abuse prevention required by The Episcopal Church. Each staff member is chosen for her ability to interact positively with children. All staff members undergo state requirements for background checks.

Our Curriculum meets the physical, social, emotional and educational needs of each child at their own level of development. Our program includes: pre-reading and pre-math skills; science and problem solving skills; self-help and personal hygiene; fitness through climbing, tumbling and movement, plus daily opportunities to be outside in our private fenced in playground; music, rhythm, movement, and games; arts and crafts including painting, coloring and cutting; story time, circle time and dramatic play; field trips and special programs.

Spirituality We are an Episcopal Church School. As such, we will offer opportunities throughout the week for spiritual development that is age appropriate and nondenominational. Each week, the children will have chapel services where they will hear a story from scripture and an age-appropriate values-based lesson.
While our orientation is Christian, we welcome all children regardless of faith background and respect all religious traditions. We stress kindness and tolerance of others in our daily life with our students.
